The James K. Tolton Society is the GW Physician Assistant Programs' student chapter of the national membership society called American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). We encourage and provide support for all PA students to join AAPA as student members who take advantage of its professional development activities. Professor Johnson serves as the faculty advisor to the Tolton Society and will assist with registration, campaigning for national leadership roles, service activities, and coaching a National Medical Challenge Bowl team to compete at the annual PA conference. Students are encouraged and supported to attend the AAPA Leadership and Advocacy Summit which provides opportunities to participate in professional advocacy on Capitol Hill discussing issues confronting the PA profession with congressional representatives.
