The Clinical Learning & Simulation Center (CLASS Center) housed in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences provides training space and equipment to ensure PA students are acclimated to the clinical environment prior to the second year, clinical phase. There are 14 examination rooms that mimic outpatient clinic spaces and 2 rooms that are mock inpatient hospital rooms. There are 2 operating rooms, a labor and delivery suite and 2 high fidelity rooms used for teams training and skills assessments. The high fidelity simulators are mannikins that blink their eyes, sweat, speak, and their vital signs "respond" to medication and treatments. Student practice medical history taking, physical examination, suturing, IV placement, intubation and other clinical skills. This space is also used for the standardized patient interviews and OSCE exams.
